Statement of Faith

When it comes to the fundamentals of what we believe, we can do no better than to quote the wisdom of two millenia of Christians.

The Nicene Creed

We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made.

Who, for us men for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the quick and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.

And we believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceeds from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets.

And we believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.  We acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and we look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.  Amen.

Additionally

We believe God created the world in six days, and created man in His own image on the sixth day.

We believe that the first man rebelled against God, and that all of mankind, descended from Adam, is born sinful and is bound for eternal torment in Hell, apart from the grace of God.

We believe that salvation is a gift of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, and not to be obtained through any efforts of our own.

We believe that the Bible is God’s holy, special revelation to man, which is able to make one wise unto salvation through the faith which is in Christ Jesus.  We believe the Bible is inerrant and absolutely trustworthy.

We believe it is the duty of Christians, saved by grace and enabled by the Holy Spirit, in gratitude and faith toward God, to obey His laws, found in the Old and New Testaments, and summarized in the Ten Commandments.

We believe that the Bible’s history is true.  We believe that the Bible’s science is true.  We believe that the Bible’s math is true.  We believe that the Bible is entirely true, in every subject it touches upon.  We believe that children should study the Bible before any other book, after any other book, and more than any other book.
